    Pan fried herring that has been dipped in beaten egg then covered in pinhead oatmeal. Served with boiled new potatoes and a knob of butter.......I love salmon and trout but salt water fish in my opinion have more flavour.

    These are fish of course, if you added shellfish I'd have;

    Mussels,
    Scallops,
    Lobster
    Prawns

    all my fish have to be cooked one the bone for that sticky sweetnes

    the tail end of seatrout (thou the rest of it is good,the tail ends of fish always seem to taste better)
    turbot
    cod
    plaice/good flounder

    Monkfish and mackerel my favouries
    Closely followed by Bass before the end of June

    Hands down its Haddock then Halibut for me. Mackerel are also great but to be at their best they need to be cooked on the boat as they are caught (served in brown bread and butter with plenty of black pepper)

    Mackerel.

    Last night we caught mackerel at musselburgh. From sea to plate in one hour. Had them on the BBQ at 10pm, delicious.

    A couple of brownies ready for the BBQ
    Onion,lemon,thyme,salt and pepper in the cavity and brushed with melted butter with butter..
