    Thumbs up

Black & Peacock for me also, followed by a Jersey Herd....Influenced bt the late great Tom Ivens and his classic book Stillwater Fly Fishing.

I was lucky enough to meet up with Tom in later life when i was part of the midlands competition scene, and got to fish with him on a number of occasions.....A true gentleman indeed.

Mind you the firstv fly I ever caught a trout on was a Peter Ross at Spring Lakes nr Ash Vale....Can't remember ever catching another trout on one, although it has taken a few sea trout for me +a couple of bootlace eels!!

Coch-y-bonddu beetle..... aged six, tied in the hand on a size 10, a two foot length of black silk and waxed fully so it would stick......it was probably dreadful, but I remember being shown to tie it by my uncle who dies last year....

Something I don't do know as I like the 'leaveability' of a vice ( youngest son being put back to bed, drinking a coffee or better still some wine, going for a pee, etc)
