I'd tie this on, not because it's a Spey Fly but because I have a lot of confidence in it, in a #7 or #9 Salar, a slow sink poly cast over towards the top of the casting platform, swing it round and thump, thump......

Just to say I have not forgotten. We are trying to find a sponsor for the competition and have approached a couple of potential companies related to the forums so far but with no luck. There is another we are working on currently to try and get them on the forums and this is an option we are offering them too. It might be that we just end up sourcing something ourselves for you this time around but it would be great to have a proper sponsor obviously so we will continue to try. I should have an another update on this soon.

    Thanks

    Default Pbp

This is the fly I would choose for the LURIG pool. This little PBPI tie less than 2" long overall and are tied on Veniard Slim brass bottle tubes. Tiny Partridge Size 14 trebles suit this little fly, it looks well balanced with them,

I believe they are 13mm.....I will have to check on that. I like these slim tubes because if you try and tie on the normal Veniard bottle tubes the flies you tie look dumpy when you tie the shorter length ones

Here's the entries for the April 2017 Tie Of The Month Competition - A Fly for the Lurig Pool

9 good entries and a couple of real crackers, including some flies I've never seen before; it's going to be a difficult choice this month again.

Well done gents, lets get the votes in.

I've missed out nwsalar; unforgivable really as he is one of our finest and most regular contributors.

Please bear with me while I try and figure out if and how I can edit the poll and add in his fly - a cracking Arndilly Fancy.

    Sorry folks.
