    Default Good/bad? old days

These are the photos from the fishing hut on the Home beat, Darnaway, River Findhorn. Many, many moons ago fishing used to be a bit better than it is now. Or am I mistaking? One pool was capable producing more fish than entire beat. In 1981 salmon stocks collapsed due to outbreak of UDN, as per note on the 5th photo, and the river hasn't been the same ever since.

Think your missing the point here.

It matters not a jot to showing the amount of fish there whether they were chapped or not.
Its showing in the main, WHAT was capable of being caught in those days.

The way the catch records are displayed really hammers home the decline over the last 30 odd years. No doubt there are graphs "proving" that the Findhorn has more fish in it now than in the late 70s....

Nice to see pictures like that and I could marvel at them all day but it is so so sad to think what is now no longer there .

Fishermen are not the problem . C&R is not the answer .
