    Records only go back to 1978 but yes. Then we went through a period of 'global warming' when basically scientists predicted there would be no polar ice caps left by 2015. Now although they won't admit it we are now entering a period of global cooling. It is called climate change and has gone on for millions of years. Anyway here is the chart.
