Question tackle/hooks

how to keep tackle (and hooks) in good condition after day fishing in sea?

hose down your rod and reel and all zips on your jacket even if there plastic, run your flies under fresh water and hang on the radiator for about an hour

Google Saltwaterflies and UK. You may find what you are looking for. When you find it , you will know you have foundi t !


The best hook for avoiding corrosion is the Mustad 34007. It is however somewhat out dated. Tiemco 811 s , Tiemco 800 S , Gamakatsu SL12 - SC 15 , and Mustad S 71 SSS or C70 SD are very popular. They are chemically sharpened .

Carp fishing hooks can also be quite nice for saltwater patterns like Decievers / Baitfish. They will rust in time, they are also quite expensive.

As you might expect this is probably the easiest box there is when it comes down to cleaning. Remove the contents and you can spray the box with water and wash all components with light soap. Saltwater anglers will appreciate the ease of maintenance, as there are no parts of this box that will become corroded with saltwater. Even the hinges on the door are made from the same durable polypropylene as the main shell.
