Default Jaba Shrimp

Jaba Shrimp.

Patterns created on bank of rivers are very effective and have their own history.
Couple years ago me friend who know almost nothing about salmons ties something partly looked like fly ;-).
But salmons accepted this pattern.
This spring with me another friend tied much modern version of this fly.
Instead of arctic fox we used polar bear and add treble hook with tail.

Treble hook
tail- raccoon dog guard hairs (from tail) , flash optional. We chose this material after tests with polar bear and buck tail, simply is better and more durable
But- gold tinsel, red floss

Fly
Body brass Shumacow Skittle tube painted red.
Top wing- orange polar bear, flash, tippet
Bottom wing- orange polar bear (smaller bunch) , fl. orange polar fox
Hackle –orange, guinea fowl orange

This spring I had something like 80% on this fly, for sure also due fact that it was most of time on the end of line.
But due to test after fish with it I repeated pools with another fly. Only once with success.

Default jaba shrimp

I can see some Russian Kola influence in this fly, I like two piece shrimp a lot but they're not in favor here in the Colonies

You are right . this is fly designed for Kola spring fishing and idea of two piece shrimp is from same Russian fly.

Few new versions of this pattern.
Hope that fish will appreciate them the same (or more ) like older one .

Yellow version. Tied only one but will follow this direction. Specially that
Most people say that Scottish springers prefer yellow than orange. We will check.

And version for BC fishing
