Smile Vancouver Island...very Green

Having grown up fishing for Atlantics on the Mighty Miramichi and Restigouce Rivers in New Brunswick (Canada)...I now find myself isolated on Vancouver Island where I have to fish for Steelhead and Pacific Salmon year round. I know that sounds tough ...but Steelhead patterns do work for Atlantics as well and the other way around as well...And Skagit style casting was around long before the current explosion of interest and products.
That story is too long for a new member so I look forward to chatting with you blokes and tight lines...
perhaps with a name like Ogilvie may explain this Scot ribbing

Default Thank You

Thank you for the warm welcome...Am a bit less chirpy today...went Steelhead fishing this morning and in my haste forgot to but on some Fleece long johns(have been in MExico for a while is my excuse...well anyway the water was about 35 degrees F..with only jeans on under breathable waders causes things to "change" in a hurray...wonderful morning though...temperature about 45F and sunny...The good thing was One Solid Tug,2 small trout and only One lost fly..
Hello Mike...saw you were here....how are things on the other side of this huge country?HAve you fished the Niagara?

I've been working far too much Actually heading out tomorrow for London on another "tour of duty" ... should only be a week though . I've promissed myself when I get back to head down to the Niagara and join up with a few friends . Next few days are set to be chilly , then supposed to warm up a tad later on in the week ..... thinkin' big Niagara chrome

Are you set for the Grand River Spey Clave ?? I'll be there this year .... Tim Pantzlaf (Spey Company) says this year is a must for me since he will be there as well . We may head up to the St.Mary's .... care to join us ???

Most excellent !!!! The Atlantics are in at that time , along with Lake Trout and Browns . Should be a blast

I'm looking forward to trying out the Beulah Platinum series at the Clave paired with an Elixir line .
